Testimonials

Lovely peaceful spot, Jo and Ian were very welcoming and the showers & toilets are spotless.
The dog-friendly pitches are a brilliant idea.
The local town, Monpazier, is lovely.
If you fancy somewhere special for lunch/dinner Étincelles - La Gentilhommière is worth the drive!

This is a lovely, peaceful site, perfectly situated to explore the Dordogne. It was our first stay in a caravan and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The shower block is very modern and spotlessly clean and the owners could not have been more helpful. You are very close to the beautiful Bastide town of Monpazier which has all the amenities you would want including fabulous restaurants and bakeries. The area itself is rich in history and is very beautiful - food and drink is simply exquisite. There is very little light pollution so after dark you are treated to beautiful starlit skies. This a great site from which to explore a quite magical area.

We camped here at the end of June 2018. If you are looking for a beautiful tranquil site that your dogs will love too then I could not recommend this too highly. We really appreciated the spotless high quality facilities with huge walk-in wet rooms. We had endless sunshine so did not use the indoor communal area, but what a good idea. But even better was the huge enclosed pitch that our dogs quickly claimed as their own garden. Thank you Ian and Jo: we had an excellent holiday.

We stayed there recently and were absolutely bowled over by the cleanliness, hospitality and friendliness of Ian and Jo. They were helpful and nothing is too much trouble.
They have extensive knowledge of the area and Ian is always making sure the site looks its best (Boys with Toys!!!).
We loved it so much we arranged for our caravan to be towed there yesterday to be stored there so we can spend many lovely holidays here.
There is so much to see in the area and whether your camping or caravanning the pitches are generous sized.
The toilet block is kept pristine.
There are tables to use on a terrace as well as a lounge.
The dog friendly pitches are a nice touch as so many people now like to take their pets with them.
We camped and although a bit noisy from the Bull frogs by the lake, it added character to the site.
Loved it.!!!!

We had a wonderful 10 days at Lune Sur Le Lac.
The enclosed dog pitches are a wonderful idea and our two dogs, Cooper and Willow loved their stay enjoying regular cooling off in the lake.

The site is very well kept and Ian and Jo found the perfect balance of being 'around' but not interfering.

Everything is exceptionally clean - the toilets and showers especially.

If I could suggest an improvement it would be access to a fridge or a freezer for campers to use as we all need somewhere to chill beer and wine!

Overall this was a wonderful holiday and we look forward to going back as soon as we can!

Just got back home after an amazing 5 weeks in France and would like to say how much we enjoyed our stay with you.
We both agreed that our time spent on your site and around the Dordogne area was the highlight of our holiday.
Good luck with all your plans for the future.
Wishing you all the very best.

This is a fantastic site in a beautiful area of France. Pitches are very large and well kept. But, the most impressive thing is the shower block......the quality of all the fittings is of an extremely high standard, and the showers are wet rooms! Everything is spotlessly clean.Yes, on a campsite! Finally, the owner Jo is very welcoming and very helpful.

We have caravanned in France for over 25 years experiencing many varieties of camp site. Camping Lune Sur le Lac was one of the best CL type sites we have visited. Nature provides many free shows, the views of the wonderful sunsets and total absence of light pollution ensured magnificent night sky displays. The toilet block is exceptional. We have booked for next year already.

We have stayed here on several occasions and love it. This is a perfect site if you are looking for peace and quiet and we will certainly be visiting again next year.

You always get a very warm welcome. Jo is also a mine of information and will give you any help and advice you need on the area and suggestions of where to eat etc.

All pitches on the site are very large and spacious and come with or without shade. There are also 2 very well fenced dog enclosures (perfect for us with our 3 dogs). The fully tiled and heated showers and toilets are large and absolutely immaculate, the best we have encountered. There are even plugs for your hairdryer/shaver above each sink. There is good wifi coverage in the club house area and each pitch has its own electricity and water supply.

There is a large relaxing club room with a mixture of comfy sofas, chairs and a dining table. Also a library area with a very good selection of books along with a stand holdng leaflets/brochures giving information on places to visit in the area. There are also various discount vouchers available for local restaurants etc. The club house is also fronted by a full length outdoor (covered) seating area along with further comfy outdoor chairs and tables where you can relax in the sun. Plenty of space to relax!

The site has plenty of land for children to play and areas to walk your dogs and a lovely walk through orchid covered fields brings you to a large fishing lake 0with some sizeable fish. The lake is also perfect for swimming. Ideal on those hot days when you need to cool off (our dogs loved it as well!).

The beautiful and friendly Bastide town of Monpazier is within a very short drive for shopping etc., and has an excellent selection of restaurants and coffee bars and a good weekly market.

The site is also situated within easy driving distance to visit the Dordogne's popular tourist attractions.

Siamo stati i primi ospiti italiani di questo magnifico campeggio aperto nel 2015. Abbiamo solo commenti positivi: gran bel posto, tranquillo, spazioso, pulito e immerso nella meravigliosa natura del Perigord. Proprietari disponibili e simpatici. Torneremo sicuramente!

What an amazing find in our search for peace, space and sun. We weren't campers, but had a rather splendid tent and equipment in the loft for 11 years used only for the odd weekend with the kids, so decided as a couple to give it one last go. We didn't expect to last more than a couple of nights, hence the initial booking for three, but how things changed with our experience at Jo and Marcus' The setting, facilities and hospitality got us hooked and we ended up staying for two weeks! Thanks so much and all the best with your ventures.

A lovely site with plenty of space and super views all around. Jo and Marcus made us feel really at home and have done a great job with the camping and all its facilities. The washrooms are second to none and better than some hotels! A great place to stay and we will certainly return again and again.

This site is a real gem, really peaceful with a wonderful setting and superb facilities with a lot more to come. Ian and Jo were brilliant as we had problems with our van and nothing was too much trouble they were determined that our mishap would not interfere with our holiday. We went out and when we returned they had prepared their caravan for us to use which we used for 8 nights cannot thank them enough.
The pitches have electric hook up water and grey waste and soon to have wifi connection, loads of room to roam and if you are into fishing I was succesful in the little pond and the huge lake. Toilets and showers all very clean and loads of hot water.

This site proved to be a great choice and we would certainly recommend staying there.
We saw lots of different birds and Trevor the eagle was a wonderful sight in the mornings.

A last minute booking via the owners Marcus & Jo and we were not disappointed. The caravan was perfect for our needs and the facilities on site for showers and toilets etc are excellent. Total care by Marcus and Jo to ensure that our stay was really enjoyable. We were sorry to leave. Highly recommended for a small yet spacious camping site. Thanks to Marcus & Jo

I saw Camping Lune Sur Le Lac on the cool camping website. I knew it was a new campsite and still being developed but its location was perfect so I took the plunge and booked. The site offers large pitches with all amenities; water, electric and grey water disposal. When the hedgerows grow sites will also become more private and shaded. The toilet block (currently 3 toilets & 3 showers with another being developed)are beautifully done; clean and plenty of hot water and very spacious showers. More amenities are on the way such as cafe a d WiFi, but the hosts are more than happy for guests to use their home WiFi until this is organized; comfy seat provided too. The hosts are a wonderful couple who made us feel at home. Very helpful and generous but without being overbearing. They truly want to provide a relaxing campsite that provides a comfortable stay. If you need anything they are at hand to help you. There is a lake on site. It might not be an environment you are used to swimming in, but take the plunge it is well worth it during the heat of the day. We took a couple of lilo's and had plenty of fun. Monpazier is only 4km away and a lovely place to visit and shop for the basic needs, some good restaurants too and fantastic weekly market. We decided to cycle to most places and the country lanes provided plenty of quiet, scenic routes that that were not too hilly. If driving there are plenty of places to visit without having to drive for too long. Although still being developed and in its early stages, this campsite is worth a visit. It is a gem and will only get better and better.

We happened across the website for this site whilst sitting in Carcassonne wondering what to do next. Although it is newly opened the owners Marcus and Jo are clearly onto something. Customer service was second to none. The fridge on our brand new motorhome gave up in 30 degree weather. No worries, we were provided with our own fridge/freezer without asking and Marcus even contacted the manufacturer to seek advice.
The facilities are great and as more open this is destined to be a very popular site so our advice is go while you can.
We are already looking forward to returning to see what has changed.

We had been thinking of storing our caravan in the Dordogne for some time and were delighted when we found this site in its picturesque setting. We were warmly welcomed by the owners who couldn't have been anymore helpful, answering all our questions and giving us confidence to safely store our van with them. The site itself is lovely, with great facilities and within easy reach of the many attractions in the area. We can't wait for our return visit!
